boot problem

First of all, my computer boots up in normal mode. However in when I want to boot in Safe Mode the computer gets stuck at drivers/agp44 or something like that. I ran a scan disk and disk defrag but no results. I need some help. Although my computer still boots maybe one day i'll need to boot in safe mode and it wont work!

what operating are you using >?if it's winXP, use WinXP to repair window.
boot from you XP cd, after it came to the option select, press R button, get in the DOS mode and type
chkdsk /r/p
after completion, type exit to restart, now try to boot in Safe Mode.
