BSOD while playing Metro 2033

it was my ram, i replaced it a few days ago, completely forgot to mention it. unfortunately, i now can play for about 30-45 minutes before it stops working. all my drivers are up to date, old ram in, took second monitor out, closed all temp/monitoring programs. im getting a ton of microstuttering which is pissing me off. getting 100fps though maxed out, lol

haha nice 100fps :) well its good to hear u worked it out, i also got some advice from another techy to turn off physx completely, aparently that will help the minimum fps heaps

yea, it was a simple outdoor area but non the less a pretty number, haha, yea i turned advanced phsyx off. im still having the issue where it just black screen randomly. theres also a rippling affect iin dark areas, like a wave of slightly higher brightness/contrast that ripples up and down the screen. happens in two worlds 2 as well, these damn 6950's are a pain in the ***. kinda want to just trade them for a 580+cash lol

ive used the top one by disabling crossfire, and no difference. maybe i need to try the bottom one solo. im just to damn lazy to undo the 2 screws haha. ill try tomorrow after work and post back

haha ok message me if it makes any difference, im thinking it could be a power load issue of some kind

so i decided to reformat and start fresh. also didnt realizes this rippling in the dark and tearing when moving too fast was caused by the gpu's pushing faster then the monitor could keep up with. so i applied vscync to the game and saw a clear improvement. only played for 1/2 hour though, i'll need to log more play time to see if the game shuts down on me. so far so good, i dont want to rma and get a non ref card =/

ok thats good then, i forgot to ask what your monitor could handle, i was playing it on a 52inch plasma before so didn't have the problem :)

didnt realize tearing could cause the game to shut down, happy i dont have to RMA a card now. green light for my WC project now

well as i said its a pretty hardcore game, try playing it for a good 4 hours and if its still good after that then you have fixed it
