Hi everyone. I just registered here after seeing some extremely good post with help with removing pasty viruses. I have a pasty virus that I have been trying to remove for the last few weeks. First off below are my specs on my computer with the virus. PC specs: 2.00 GHz Intel Pentium 4 (Stock speeds) 128 DDR ATI Radeon 9700 Pro w/TV-Out 1024 Megabytes Installed Memory aMtxro6 3L000S [Hard drive] (300 GB) MAXTOR 6L040J2 [Hard drive] (40 GB) Creative SB Live! Series Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 [build 2600] (With all the latest updates) Problem: AVG Anti-Virus Free (version 8.5.454) has detected a virus but will not remove the infection. Below is the virus info from AVG: AVG Info: Object name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\netbt.sys Detection name: Trojan house BackDoor.Generic 14.CEXK Object type: file SDK Type: Core Result: Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed) I have tried to use AVG to remove it with no luck. I have also ran CCleaner, Ad-Aware, HiJackThis (was having a problem with websites redirected and this has fixed that issue), Malwarebytes', and Registry Mechanic with no luck removing this virus. I am out of options on what to do next or how to remove this virus. Any help removing this would be grateful. Thanks for any help in advance!
