Can't send emails?

Just discovered this website, so hello.

I'm temporarily on "steam-driven" dial-up for three months. Everything fine until Friday, 10th Jul. Now I can't send emails, getting:

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'xxxxxx.xxxx@xxxxxx'. Subject '', Account: 'pop.virgin.net', Server: 'smtp.virgin.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Administrative prohibition - relaying not allowed', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79."

I use Outlook Express, I have been having problems with Internet Explorer so I am using Firefox for the internet, and I connect through UK Telecom. I hope all that makes sense, as I haven't really grasped the whole process of connections and accounts, etc.

Anyone there who can help me?

You need to change your outgoing SMTP server so that it requires SSL and change the port to 465. POP mail uses two servers: One to receive mail (POP) and one to send mail (usually SMTP) and each have to be configured according to your internet service provider's setup.

Here are the instructions, step by step (This document looks more intimidating that it is) :)

I'd also recommend using Thunderbird or Postbox (a slightly more cutting edge version of Tbird) over Outlook Express. They better, free mail clients.

Download Thunderbir: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
... or Download Postbox: http://www.postbox-inc.com/
