Hello, i've been having a re-occuring problem with my pc. This error has only occured during gaming. Visual indication would be the screen freezing on a specific frame. Sound would indiciate a reptition/loop of the last half second of noise produced by the game. And for my pc case, i have a led that connects to the HDD that blinks to show HDD activity. When the freezing first starts, it would blink in a constant cycle, then a few moments later, the light would turn off, My screen would still be frozen, and the sound would not loop anymore, but only play the last sound genereated by the game. On another occasion, I decided not to manually push the restart button to get the pc going again, and I decided to wait and see what happens. The HDD LED light flashed and the sound came up for a split second then restarted.

Things I've done to try to troubleshoot;
1. Chckdsk (Using regular chkdsk in run will check to about 2nd or 3rd step, then it says errors found cannot run in read only mode.
2. chkdsk /f
3. Ran SEAGATE diag tools. Tests run: SMART check, Short drive self test, short generic test. Long self drive test. All tests came back as PASSED
4. Right click My Pc -> Manage -> Disk Management -> Right-Click C drive -> Properties -> Error Checking -> Check Now. The test would not start till i rebooted (and i did so) I waited for the 5 step test to finish, and my regular boot up screen proceeded and i logged in.
5. Cleaned out all dust from pc. Re-applied thermal paste to CPU
6. Memtest86+ v4.00
7. Made sure the rail or w.e PSU supports my pc and GPU
*I've updated graphic card drivers, HDD firmware
PC SPECS:
Quad core Q9450
Seagate 500gb
bfg gts250
kingston 4gb ram
coolmaster 600W

GPU: 33C idle, 55C load
CPU: 39C idle 58C load

Also on one occasion, after the restart of my pc I started doing what I regularly do. After I was done, I shut it down.

Next morning, I turn on my pc, boot up and everything was fine, but I recieved an additional dialog box saying my pc has recovered from a serious error (dont know why it came up, and if it should come up, shouldnt it have come up after the auto restart ?)
Heres the log in event viewer.

Thanks,
those 2 items are part of a computers specs. A bios update for the Asus motherboard, and applying all the missing Windows Updates including Service Pack 3 and IE8 will be a good thing to do now
