Desktop/taskbar disappear

was doing some cleanup on my wife's rig the other day -now the desktop/taskbar turn into a blank, white page....ctrl/alt/del brings up task mgr and taskbar, then can click "show desktop," and all returns -til i open and close another app.......??????????????????????????????? win 7 home prem - can find no malware with numerous programs.... anybody can help??

Try doing a System Restore under System Tools to a time before you did your cleanup.

solved

restore would not work - turned out to be a registry problem involving bitdefender. -cccleaner and malware bytes (plus a long, involved, uninstall/reinstall of the a/v) took care of it....

bit defender would not show up in taskbar- would not uninstall - ran malware bytes to clean infections, then cc cleaner registry fix, and tried its uninstaller- no go. tried revo uninstaller -no again -downloaded "my uninstaller (free) - and got it out. reinstalled bitdefender - and all is well.:grinthumb
