Dual channel ram

first off, what is Cas latency and will this ram work in this mother board?

oh yea, and i installed a windows update, would that have killed my on board lan port? it died right after i installed a windows update. i think i tried dl'ing an update from the mobo website but i don't remember what happened.

Thats fine ram but that board will not support dual channel you need a 939 socket for that like this one..

I hope you have not bought the CPU yet or are you using a existing one??

i'm using an existing system but i just want to upgrade my ram and wanted to know if that ram would work in my system since it's dual channel and i don't have a DC mobo. just don't wanna waste money on something that won't work for me, ya know?

That ram will work jsut fine ..I am just letting you know the board you want does not support dual channel...

the reasion the lan mite not work because some windwos update (sevvice pack 2) enables a windows firewall and that sometimes as funny as it sounds blocks you from accessing your own how network.
