Hi,

I am getting blue screens and getting the above stated error code. In more detail error code follows:

Error code 1000007e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 805db757, parameter3 f7a93880, parameter4 f7a9357c

This is a laptop computer. Which used to work fine but lately it has been becoming very unstable and getting BSOD's now and then which is not reproducable on using particular applications.

Kindly advise. Attached please find the minidump file if you could interpret what could have gone wrong.

Thanks and much appreciated...

Regards

Karl Bonnici.

You are likely to get more responses if you save the file in txt mode rather than dmp.

Would you please help in so doing? I am new on dump files and have no idea in converting them.

Tried to crudely convert to txt by changing the extension of the file but obviously got a garbled content.

Any help appreciated...

Regards

Karl.

Your error is 0x7E:SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
There are numerous individual causes for this problem, including hardware incompatibility, a faulty device driver or system service, or some software issues.

Though one minidump isn't definitive yours did cite memory corruption as the issue. So...

1. Go to www.memtest.org and download the latest ISO version. It is free and perfectly safe.

2. Burn to a CD.

3. Place CD in your drive and reboot with CD in drive. The test will take over.

4. Let it run for a LONG time. The rule is a minimum of 7 Passes. There are 8 individual tests per Pass. Many people will start this test before going to bed and check it the next day.

5. If you have errors you have corrupted memory and it needs to be replaced.

6. Also, with errors you need to run this test per stick of RAM. Take out one and run the test. Then take that one out and put the other in and run the test. If you start getting errors before 7 Passes you know that stick is corrupted and you don’t need to run the test any further on that stick.
