FTP and wireless connection drops

Everytime I setup an FTP server, the people who connect get kicked and my wireless connection drops soon after and I'm not sure why. I have the same problem with connection drops when I am downloading large files, my connection will disconnect and then after a split second it will connect again, anyone have any ideas why?

Set it so it uses default Passive mode.
You may also have to increase the number of allowed FTP-users

Is it the wireless connection that drops or your internet connection?

How fast connection do you have? It may be too much for your wireless router (or whatever you have, thanks for providing all the helpful details).

I trust you have the latest firmware and drivers for your wireless gear?
