I've just built my first pc.
once I was ready to power up, I pushed in the "power" button and nothing happened.
I then noticed a "start" button on my MB (maximus vii hero/ acu).
after I pushed this button in the computer booted up. a few minutes later I needed to power down. I pushed the power button (held it in for a few seconds) and that putrid smell of bburnt electronics/ plastic came out, seemed to emanate from the power button.
now the only way I can turn on the pc is via the "start" button on the MB. and the power button LED does not light up, and the reset button LED flickers slightly (mostly off, flickers lightly on every second or so)
any help is greatly appreciated.
