Well, here, there is a link for IE7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/internet-explorer/downloads/ie I think IE8 cannot run on win XP. If you want the US version, just substitute US for GB in the link. For all I know, there may be plenty of other localised versions too.

Actually, IE7 is not as good as numerous other browsers. Why not try Firefox ? Check this page for all MS down loads including media player http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/sitemap.aspx

Sounds like you want to try and slipstream the windows disk. Is this correct?

I also agree with gbhall on trying other browsers. I have been using Opera since it very first came out many moons ago, and absolutely love it.

Same. I used to buy Opera when it they did an ad supported version for free.

I think IE8 cannot run on win XP

I'm running IE8 on XP, it's 9 that doesn't support XP.
