Help with my CD-Rom

My CD-rom is connected to my motherboard but my computer doesn't seem to detect it since it does not appear under "Devices with removable storage" in my computer. I know it works because it worked in the past, this has happened since I had a problem with my motherboard, fixed now, but that I had to disconnect everything fromthe motherboard and plug it back in. Anyone knows what the problem could be???

Maybe try unplugging it and plugging it back in; if that doesn't work, you might want to see if the cable is damaged, especially right at the connectors. If you wiggle the cable, does it show up? It might not even if the connections are there, though, cuz IDE is not hot plug (you might have to restart first). It is IDE (a gray ribbon cable), right?

go to bios and see if the drive gets picked up in there.

if it doesn't, change the IDE cable around and try again.
Can you hear it spin up/power up?
