How can I change taskbar icons( Not quick launch icons) in Windows XP?

I'm wondering how you can change these icons...

from their program default chosen icon, to an icon of your choice.

I do support and when asking people on the phone to locate an icon down there, they never can see it. I want to change the program icon that it uses by default, to a giant red something that will stick out like a sore thumb so even a blind person won't be able to miss it. Thanks!

try right clicking on the icons in your start menu that you want to change in the task bar, then click on properties you'll see "change icon". it'll have a list of icons to chose from...select the one you want and apply. Some you can't change...

No they don't Top Cat. Try reading the post properly before answering. FullGainer wants to change the icons that apperar in systray not those in quicklaunch.

I know that some apps provide a way of changing the icon displayed in systray. Sometimes you can tweak them so that they use your own icons. This ain't a general solution though. I'd be happy to find out for myself if this can actually be done (and how it's done.... obviously ).
