how do you unistall windows 98

i want to uninstall windows 98 it says im missing a system file that is required to run my intallation for windows xp and its telling to first unistall 98 what do i do

You allready have XP installed? or you are trying to install XP on a system running Win98? if XP is allready installed try running System file checker to replace the missing file. with your XP disk in the optical drive open a command prompt and type sfc /scannow this will run system file checker and it will replace any missing or damaged system files.
