Just called HP

Just got off the phone with HP Tech. What a complete waste of time, also when did they out-source their tech support out of the USA? Really hard to understand them talking. Was told since my laptop is a 2003 model, they would have to charge $275.00 - $300.00 to remove this password. So, mods giving the advice to call HP isn't a good choice in my opinion. The tech said that HP didn't give any passwords out period. As a last note, when I bought the laptop I registared it as well so there was no denying my ownership.

Hi I have an Omni Book 900b with the hash code of 01779 and I have tried everything to reset this thing. I have noticed others on here getting help deleting this problem. I am hoping someone has the answer. Hp wants more money than I can afford to help me out.

Well I tried that link, and for some reason that link is dead, it may be my computer or something. I did try a few other paid services, and they had no clue, they said I should just forget it because no one would have the answer fo that excetp HP. It's kind of beginning to look like that. It's a shame really, I have all our sons wedding pictures on there.

Hey Butler5776, I had a XE-4400 that had a bios password, updated the bios and the password was history. Didn't work on the pavilion because it had the lastest bios on it.

So what did you do, replace the bios? I know that I can buy a new bios chip, but that seems a little dangerous messing with the motherboard. It may be my only option. I have been surfing the internet all day trying to find somewhere that has a master bios password. Have not been to successful.

I just updated the bios by going to HP.com support. They have versions that you download and update thru windows.

Just a thought

Was thinking that when someone gets a password that fixes their laptop they could post the "key". If all were kept in the same place, new users could look and see if any matched theirs. Such as my hash code is 12497. When I get the code to unlock I'll post it.

i bought a dell latitude d830 last week on ebay. but stupid as i was, i didn't ask for the password. i tried to use latitude_masterpw v2.20 but this is not workin' with a xxxxxxx-595B string id. i search for a jumper on the motherboard but couldn't find it. i search for info on this forum too but i can't get my laptop working. i wanted to try the paperclip method but there's no ks240C02 ic chip.
i would appreciate every little help.
my service tag is #50VJ83J-595B
and the express service code is 109-368-767-35.
and can someone hook me up with a master password or a beter paperclip's tutorial based on the latitude d830.

also says hdd locked need admin password to acsess the bios.

HP Omnibook xe3 password locked NEED HELP!

I just purchased a HP Omnibook xe3 from a pawn shop and found out that it has a bios lock on it. They wont take it back now and I heard you can get the code from the hash code.

I have the hash code and it is 13250

Latitude d620 password

Hello anyone whom is able to help me. I just bought dell Latitude D620 laptop. Unfortunately, it is locked, with the gray screen and with the pw question :-(. I already try everything, but nothing helps me. I have also tryed looking for the chip to short out but couldn't find it. So this is my last chance.

I am trying to find out if there is a shortable eeprom chip on a Dell XPS M1530 laptop. The ST# is 1XWWZF1-595B. Unfortunately I have already taken the laptop apart and was unable to find the proper chip based on reading the reading of the previous posts. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

you can stop searching. There is no shortable eeprom in you machine.

It looks like you know about computers alot. I had that BIOS password problem with a Dell laptop. I could not solve it, so i payed Dell for their help. My question is can the password they gave help pther peoples laptop?
