a college of mine has got the same problem but a little worse then the rest i'm affraid.
He has bought a second hands d600 lattitude from a firm a few months ago that worked fine for a couple of months.
but then he got problems with his memory sockets (bad contact and suddenly shutdowns beceause of this)
now he also got the bios password screen 595b but the servicetag is removed by network administrator of that firm to *********-595b and servicetag sticker is gone.
the sockets can be repaired but i'm stuck on the 595b part

HP Omnibook 6200 lost password

I have HP Omnibook 6200 with lost admin password in bios. User password i knew unless i entered it blank (empty) in bios... Can anyone help me? Hash code 00500... Plz I need this notebook today PLZ PLZ PLZ....

servicetag sticker is gone.
The service tag has been ripped off, so I dont know where else I can find the service code
How strange that both of you have similar issues

The Service Tag sticker "ripped off" issue, has another option
If you can get into CMOS settings, you will be able to view your Service Tag number. If you cannot view the CMOS settings, or the Service tag also has been removed (using svctag program by someone) then you may only have the "PaperClip" option left

I'd suggest you both (and all) should read this thread from the beginning, to find more info on your system, and what free options you have.

yes i find it also very strange they told me it was done to prevent users from accessing the bios by getting the admin password through te service tag, but there wasn't a password on the bios (or removed before selling)

how can i get in to the cmos settings ?
i get the bios authentication password screen when i start the laptop.

I know about the paperclip option but can't find more info about it for a lattitude d600
If somewone has the guide it would be very appriciated if you mail it to me or other help from some kind.

Please read this thread from the beginning, all support will be provided on the forum, here; there is no need to "mail" it to you, such a practice is only done by lesser support members, that are providing help for their advantage not yours.

That's ok, but I was concerned. I tend to watch all members on this thread and their posts. Many members here are trying to make exorbitant amounts of money on password retrieval. These members are usually quickly found (usually same day) and removed. This is a free tech forum

Reading these posts, will likely give you valuable info on your system, and alternatives. You must read (I say this a lot :) )

i have read almost the whole thread but didn't find a chip location for the d600
i have found youre paperclip list and the dst software would that be a solution ?
and can it damage my bios by using it of it doesn't work ?
in the guide above there is only mentionned that the d600 is included in the full version

Look for a chip marked 24u05 or 24c04 or 24c05

thanks does the mainboard needs to be removed from the system ?
or is there an other way to get to the chip ? (i'm not very technical)
i've read somewhere i think it was next to the memory slots

Inspiron 1000

I did read the posts and searched the boards.
No solutions were possible for me yet.
That is how I know what I do about my situation so far.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000
I need the BIOS master password.
Hash Code 10641

1. Paperclipping is listed as a nonworking solution for the Inspiron 1000
2. The service tag is gone. I was told to check the BIOS for the info, but the BIOS is password protected.

I could get the motherboard serial#, and power supply serial# as the "dell mouth piece", said.( Im sorry, I dont remember your name.) And then contact dell with I guess 27$, and wait 2 weeks.

I would contact Paragon33 directly as he sounds knowlagable, but I cant get his info from the page. (my posts <20)

No jumper.
Removing CMOS battery for any length of time does not work.
this is my last option plz plz plz thx

Inspiron 1000

OK, thank you for the Dell transfer website.
I will keep this for when I am able to get the service tag.:(
I do not have this. Is it listed on the inside of the case?

And thanks too for the Disassembly instruction.
I too will go look for a chip, but in the posts, it says that paperclipping is not possible, good to just check though, CMOS password is stored in another chip.

No

I agree this "Inspiron 1000" without Service Tag, is a very difficult one
You may need to source help elsewhere on this. (ie I can't think of any free alternative) I only say this after much investigation, and reading all posts here
