Installation problem - but I think its me being PC stupid

Ok, i got the sims complete collection, installed perfectly, and i played on it for a few hours, no problems whatsoever.
I came back to play again the next day, but a message came up saying that it had detected that i had installed another expansion pack since complete collection, which i hadn't. The only option it gave me was to uninstall, so i uninstalled and installed the whole thing again.
Same message.

The only thing i can think of is that i had the orginal sims and house party as separate disks installed before i got complete collection, but i uninstalled both of these before starting with complete collection.

Please help, cos it's really irritating.

You may be on the right track here as sometimes the uninstall routines do not finish the job off properly.
Please uninstall all programs from this company, sims or otherwise, and then reinstall the ones you want or the whole suite from a single source.
