Internet Speed lagging..

So I just finished building my new computer, after about an hour i started to install my normal software, and when I had started downloading stuff, it would go at about 50kb, which I KNOW is not right, since my Mac goes at about 200kb along with every other computer in my house. I checked to see how many computers were on my network and only two were on..mine and my mac. Now I think I might know why, but not sure exactly how. I was told that if I connected my mac directly to my PC through the ethernet port I could share a connection. I had gone to set up a workgroup or w.e microsoft likes to call it and if I remember correctly thats when the problem started, since I had downloaded a few things before that ran fine.

Any suggestions? I saw the previous thread like this and removed iTunes..no luck..but I know that wasnt the problem since that was downloading at 30kb itself xD

Internet connection sharing stinks (imo). Serializing the network may be cheaper,
but you PAY for it in poor performance.

delete the ICS connection and go back to

modem --- router--your systems

you'll be much happier
