Laptop not working

My acer 290 laptop was used on battery power and went off it was left over night without putting power supply in and turning it off properly. When I went to power it up the next day it did not power up, the light for power came on and the battery light blinked for a while. The battery light then went off and came back on fully after a couple of hours. On turning it on initially the cd rom made some noises but that’s all and the screen remains blank the cd rom light blinks while the cd rom makes a noise but the hard drive light does not come on. can any one help with ideas??

Remove the laptops battery and see if the laptop will power up on the AC adaptor only

ive done that but still no luck ive been told its possibly hard drive??

I hope it is a hard drive and not a motherboard

Hey,

Try charging the battery and turning your laptop on battery. If that doesnt work then remove the battery and then press the power button couple of times to completely drain any power from the laptop. Then plug in just the power adapter and then try turning on your laptop.

thanks will try that holding the button down but battery is fully charged
