What just happened? No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games on Thursday published a launch trailer for Beyond, the massive update scheduled to arrive on August 14. The teaser reveals even more of what we can expect from the mysterious update including a glimpse at the Nexus.

Hello Games founder Sean Murry said that when they sat down to write the first lines of code on what would become No Man’s Sky nearly eight years ago, he never could have imagined the kind of trailer they just published.

"A multiplayer game, with base building, trading, space combat, giant mechs, economies, freighters, first person, third person, and so much more, all set in a beautiful procedural universe,” he said.

The Nexus is a shared social space meant to bring players together like never before.

Suddenly your ship that you spent 50 hours earning can now be seen by others in the Nexus. Your rare spacesuit and unique helmet can be shown off to other players. Friends and strangers can visit that massive base you’ve been working on.

The space-faring adventure game will soon get virtual reality support and a radically new social and multiplayer experience. Hello Games has also promised a third major arm to the Beyond update but hasn’t yet shared exactly what it is. At this rate, it looks like gamers may have to wait until next week to uncover the mystery.

I might actually buy this now if I could pick it up $10-15. $60 is too much as well as their "sale" price of $30 theyve been running for who knows how long.

First time I've been interested in this game since it's disastrous launch

I've seen it at 20 a few times.

It's currently $25 on CDkeys

It's funny how you guys will spend $50-$60 or more on some stupid game where all you do is try to kill other players. But a game like this? Yeah, even $30 is too much! Soon it's going to be all FPS games and nothing else.

This is one of the silliest replies I've ever received on this forum. I haven't bought a game made in the last 3 years. I mostly play Eve online and CIV V.

Where in the world were you trying to go with that comment?

That's an assumption and not a very good one. Taking advantage of a game being a lower price one place VS another is not a bad thing. It is in fact very normal. Please take your SJW mentality elsewhere.

Yeah, in those games you can at least kill other players, in this one all you do is...well...nothing really. The game is an utter piece of ****, but it's fine I guess, **** taste in games is not a crime.

Triggered much? There's plenty to do in this game. If you haven't figured it out, either you haven't played the game, or more than 5 minutes into it.

I'm not the one who's trigged here, evidently. I was simply expressing my opinion on this game. I'm sure there's plenty to do in this game, Sean, maybe you should go play it.

Well, how about be at least a little constructive? What game can we have that is ok with you?

You can have any game you want. I never said you can't have it. Since pretty much any game in existence is better than whatever this game is, it would take me quite some time to make a list, so anything, really.
