Hello all,

i recently had a nightmare with my laptop i attempted to download a crack with in turn gave my machine an early christmas present.

i had loads of problems so i reinstalled xp and now i have no administrational or control panel access despite logging in as admin.

i found a thread that explained about hijackthis so here is my log.

What happens next lol.

Your pc is badly infected and you don't even have a virus scanner, this is what you get for downloading illegal software. In the following instructions there is some links to free antivirus software, I suggest you download and use 1 then follow all the instructions to the letter.

You need to have a read of this - If your system is infected. Read this before deciding whether to CLEAN or REFORMAT.

Then if you should wish to proceed with cleaning your system you need to go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, Combofix, and AVG Antispyware logs as ATTACHMENTS into this thread, only after doing the above.
We also need to know the result of Panda Antirootkit.

i did NOT know that downloading cracks was illegal i now and will not be doing things like that. was the first and now last time.

i got to the panda ant-root kit step, from which i am requested to restart. when the desktop came back on i checked everything and ALL problems have gone.

this may sound completely ignorant but should i continue with the rest of the steps.

Downloading cracks itself isn't illegal, but cracks are illegal because of what they are intended for.

Just do everything in the instructions then post the requested logs, we can then get on with sorting your problems out.
