New Comp.-first time starting

i got a barebones from ebay (New) and got 512 ram (ONe stick) and a 80 gig HD. The HD is Sata. I connected everything and it beeps. I get one long beeps followed by the same thing than it shuts down. I dont know what the problem is. Do i need HD drivers i tryed to reset the CMOS by taking out the battery and taking off the jumper for 6 secs. No luck. Please i really want to get it started

Try reseating the memory stick

Hey GoAvalanche,

post your system specs. ie Mobo make/model etc.
Also SATA hard drives need a power connector and the data connection to the motherboard.
