No bootable device

hi guys i'm new here. i have pc tech experience but i am just lookin for a lil extra advice. i have a hp pavilion dv4. well actually its my sisters but its in my possession to be fixed. my nephew spilled some coffee on it. i dried it out. everything is still working fine except for the no bootable device issue. at first i thought it was the HD that went bad from the spill so i got a brand new one. installed that and its still doin the same thing. in the bios it is not even recognizing a HD. the cd-rom works fine and will load up windows 7 but in windows 7 setup it wont recognize a HD (becuz its not showin up in the bios). i am wondering if anyone has come across this issue before and have an feedback on how i could possibly fix this before i write it off as a motherboard problem from the spill. thank you in advance.

Probably something shorted out when you spilled coffee on it?
