OS pls. help

I just build a new pc and in need of OS. My friend is selling me one (still sealed) but the box is marked "for distribution with a Gateway PC only". Do you think it will for me if I install it? Anybody? Thanks

Try some version of Linux - most are free. Or get a grip and buy Windows.
