PC problem. What is it?

I have a computer which i was using, but now when i turn it on the fan inside the tower starts, but nothing comes on the screen, but the tower makes a beeping sound,What can be the Problem

is it the main memory (320 gb/500 gb etc)

Yes it is the main system memory... You might have a friend that will know how to check or change the memory for you, since the computer won't start

The original poster (OP) is confusing RAM with hard drives. The 320GB/500GB are hard drives. Tmagic650 is referring to RAM modules, the thin sticks. The term system memory is often used interchangeably with RAM.

I have had customer's tell me that they increased the computers memory. They bought a bigger hard drive... System RAM= System Random Access Memory
