Ok I own a custom made computer with the specs listed below

- Sapphire Radeon x700 Graphics Card
- 2 x 512 Mb RAM
- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor
- Asus Socket 939 Motherboard
- 450 W power supply

Went to bed last night, turned my computer off as normal, same routine for the last year and a half. Woke up this morning, and it would not start. The power supply is on. The green light on my motherboard is on, which I'm hoping indicates that my power supply works, but it does not turn on. I've dusted the whole thing out, wiggled and fixed all the connections, and I have no idea what's wrong with it. Please help.

Check the back of the motherboard to see whether any soldering joints or other metal parts on the motherboard are touching the side panel of the case. It sounds like the motherboard is bad.

You might try downloading Memtest86+'s bootable ISO from here, burning it to a CD or floppy, and booting from the CD or floppy drive. See if Memtest86+ finds any errors.
