Riot is forcing Valorant players to update their PC firmware to keep playing

This is a new low for me. Essentially, people that play these competitive games for fun now have to accept every requirement from the game developer. While this game itself does not cost money, but it is not "free".
play a game less comp then. cs2 is still there. and plenty others that are pretty chill. you know whats not fun? playing against cheaters.. if you are chill playing a cheater here and there isnt that big of deal you just re-up a new game.

Manufacturers don't update their bios... maybe 3 -4 revisions for two years for mainstream processors.
depends on the generation and the bugs that are found. also the oem. the intel 13th 14th gen had 100 bugs. no kiding probably had 25+bios updates

My Gigabyte X570 board I bought in 2019 has had 20 BIOS updates. The latest was only a few months ago. Im happy with this lever of support 6+ years after launch.

Still running the BIOS that originally fixed the WHEA issues on my 5900X when the CPU first launched and that was nearly 5 years ago. I've seen there are a good handful of new BIOS releases for my MB, but I'm a very firm believer (based on experience) that if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
Is that the error that pops up in event viewer? Something like hardware error detected and corrected?
If so, I am getting it as well with z890 board and ultra 265k. But I am almost certain it appears when I use all 4 DDR slots rather than 2.
A while ago, I learned that my ram gets too hot with all 4 slots when running heavy tests such as memtest. But since I get zero problems in games and everyday tasks, I said f** it, I am using all 4 slots like the king, especially considering how precious RAM is.

nothing wrong with all slots. you just cant run at as fast speeds. yeah cooling becomes more of a problem as air doesnt flow past as easily. could just throw a small fan on them?

I found out other people having the same issue. I can literally run memtest for hours with 2 sticks, and they get so hot when all four are plugged that it is no surprise memtest begins to spot errors.
There is a reason 2 stick sets are so much more popular than 4. It is probably for this reason.
Surely, not a lot of people begin to run memtest for hours when they buy new ram. Which is why I think many never find out about this issue.
I have not found an app that would make my ram crash except memtest which is why I decided to keep all four plugged. But if I do, I will just take 2 out rather than try to put a fan there.
