SATA drive problem

I have a weird problem with a Samsung sata drive.

When the pc boots up the bios cannot see the drive, nor is it seen by XP, if I then press the reset button the drive is seen in the bios and works fine in XP.
This happens every time the pc is started, I've tried the drive on all 4 sata connectors with the same result.

I would suspect slow spin-up of the drive on cold boot.

Check your mobo manual for Bios settings that allow more time for the drive to get up to speed.

I've disabled quick boot in the BIOS, hasn't made any difference.
I've noticed that the XP logo displayed during boot up is noticably dimmer when the sata drive is connected.

Could be a psu problem due to demand on cold boot.

Run Everest and report the Computer-Sensor voltages;

Thanks CCT, I managed to effect a cure by disabling the Via SATA connectors & using the Promise SATA connectors & drivers, according to the mobo manual they should work together
but they won't for me.
Seems to have cured it for the moment anyway.
