Tha General, I have a question for you:
Have a Dell Dimension 3000 and which graphics card you recommend for my PC ? (9400 GT or 9500 GT)
What is your full specs?
To answer your question, i would grab a 1GB version of either the 9400gt or 9500gt. I never seen the full detail specs of the 9500gt, only seen the 9400gt. So i guess grab either one in your price range, but make sure its 1GB. If you can't get a 1gb, 512mb is fine.
I am not buying anymore PCI cards, but i would grab the 9500GT for the first option.
1Gb of memory on a PCI card is completely useless.
They say that about pcie cards too, but i wouldn't pay it no mind. I am buying a 4550 512mb gddr3 card as my first pcie card, along with a 9500gt gddr3 i am sure the 1gb will come in handy at some point.

The HD4550 is a pretty horrible card, and 1Gb on low-end cards is a waste of money.
Tha General is all about wasting money :haha:

My full spec are:
Intel P4 2.8 GHz (Old socket 478) (Not OC!)
1.25 Gb of RAM
160 Gb of HD
Intel Extreme Graphics 2 96 Mb (Intel 82865 R)
250 Watts of power suply
Windows 7 RC 7100 (Spanish version)
And if is necessary will put a new power supply
um if i was you, i would use windows xp. Not too sure a new OS like win7 will function well in gaming with a pentium 4. Xp is less demanding and perfect for gaming, also you can upgrade to about 2GB?
I have Win XP too (Secundary OS)
Yes, Dell support page says: "Can support at least 2Gb" (WTF?? it doesn't support 4 Gb :dead![]()
Well you need xp 64bit or vista 64bit to get 4GB or higher. All you really need is 2GB.
But yea i will use XP for your main OS, or whatever, with the pentium 4 and grab a 9500GT![]()
Ok, Im going to buy the Sparkle Geforce 9500 Gt 512 MB, but my PSU can handle it?
P.S: The pentium (Socket 478) doesn't support 64 Bit and Dell doesn't support 64 Bit drivers....![]()
Thanks
P.S: in Newegg they say at minmium 350 of power supply, are you sure if my power supply can handle it? :suspiciou
250 watts of power have my rig

i ran a 8400gs, 8500gt and 2400hd
That is some of the worst advice I have ever seen.Tha General said:Well i guess you can buy a a nice new PSU with higher watts if you want, i ran a 8400gs, 8500gt and 2400hd with my old intel pentium 3 that had 90watts and all 3 cards ran at full speed, so thats up to you. Power supply requirements to me is always inaccurate.
No, i am talking about a GPU-Z shot, that picture is a lazy copy and paste method by sparkle lol.
You had/have a PCI 8500GT ? Interesting. Why are you using the 8400/2400 then ?
