Speaker/headphone not working

Hi all,
I am having a windows xp sp2, and suddenly I start to expiriance problems with my speakers/headphone, its not working, but whats funny is, if I reboot my PC then its working again for let say an hour or so, but then it stop, and its not working until my next reboot.
1) I tried to update my audio drivers (which is intel) but still didnt help.
2) I tried with microsoft fix it, but I had nothing changed.

can anyone advice me what I can do?

Hey Auto2. The first thing I would do is bring your machine up to SP3 as it's been out for years now. XP with SP2 is not supported. You can download then double-click on the self executing SP3 file from the link below. This 316MB file is for the 32bit version of XP which most people have.Disregard the IT Pros nomenclature, takes about 15-20 minutes on average to install once you start it.
