q6600 quad core, 750w power supply. 8800GT,, 4gig corsair dominator,

Built from scratch last night. All brand new parts.

First time I boot up

Everything looks wired fine. When I power up the fan over the chipset doesent spin for a few seconds. ONce it starts to spin the computer powers down and reboots over and over. Computer does not beep.

What brand of power supply do you have? What motherboard do you have? It's common for the CPU fans to not spin on Intel CPUs, especially with Gigabyte boards because smart fan is enabled by default to make everything quiet.

It sounds like either something is shoring out, or your power supply is faulty.

Corsair power supply, gigabyte motherboard. Anbyways think i found the problem. 3 bent pins where chip goes.

Ouch, you'll have to return that to where you bought it from or Gigabyte. Gigabyte are good about their repairs, I ship a batch of at least four dead ones out every 6 months and get almost every one back working.
