Toshiba laptop monitor has reverse polarity

I have a toshiba satellite 2105CDS laptop with windows 98. I let my daughter use it to play on the internet and yesterday I notice the colors on the screen were all messed up. I did a little research and think it has reverse or negative polarity. In other words the black and white are inversed. It looks the the negatives you get when you get film developed. Ive reset the display setting i8n the control panel back to dafault and that is not the problem. Any suggestions on what this could be from or how I can fix the problem?

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite M45-S265 that's only a little over a year old and just developed the exact same problem! I tried EVERYTHING to fix it, at least everything I could think of with my limited knowledge. I add my voice to MLS'...HELP! Does anyone know how to fix this and/or what could have caused it???? I can't afford to take it in to be repaired if it's going to be really expensive (which I'm afraid it might be). Thanks.
