Unicomp Ultra Classic Keyboard Review

I find the sound from the IBM keyboards rather unpleasant, they have a nasty metallic/abrupt edge to them.

It sounds like the unicomp ones are marginally better (although that may be just youtube's sound compression). I certainly wouldn't describe them as thunk-y though. Get yourself a high quality rubber dome or alps switch based keyboard if you want a deeper sound.

I have an IBM Model M that was manufactured in 1992. I love this keyboard. I wouldn't use any other.

I finally got my hands on a Unicomp UNI044A Classic 104-key and all I can say is that this is EXACTLY the same as the IBM Model M. This makes sense as it's all the same tooling and the same manufacturing process carried out by the same people who made these keyboards in the first place.

I typed this post on the very keyboard I'm describing and it is just GLORIOUS!
