Vdownloader quit working with YouTube?

Till recently, worked great.

Now it says the URL pasted from You Tube isn't a valid
You Tube address (?)

Noticed in the very bottom left corner of the vdownloader
window it says disconnected, but can't do anything about it.

Tried the video downloader with Firefox, don't really like it,
plus would have to go thru the hassle of converting it to
something WM will play, too much fuss.

Any reason vdownloader isn't working now anyone?
Like maybe You Tube blocks it or something?

Is there anything else out there that works as well
as vdownloader? Also would like to be able to capture
stuff off i.e. streetfire and other sites anyway.

Well, WOW!

I had version 0.2, got to thinking maybe there's
a newer version as fast as things change, so checked.

Downloaded 0.5.1, WOW!

Huh! 2/3 or more of the videos on You Tube I tried to download
are blocked anyway! And couldn't download anything from streetfire.

Isn't there anything that will record (versus download) whatever's
playing?

you could try screen recording with hypercam. or you could try a different Youtube Downloader.

Would a different downloader work when UTube blocks the downloading?

I was thinking along the lines of something that would record (vs download)
anything that the video card plays, like some of the sound recorders can do.
