Hello, I have gotten a new GFroce FX5500 and installed the drivers from Nvidia site. I restarted my comp and my screen went black. I even tried a different slot on my mobo but nothing helps. Am I Doing something wrong?

Please help me :(

Is this a PCI card, and do you also have integrated graphics? If you are unsure of the answer, please tell us what make/model your motherboard is.

Assuming that I have it right above, the typical procedure is:
(start WITHOUT that new card in, and plug your monitor into your integrated video)
1. Boot in safe mode, find your integrated graphics drivers and delete them.
2. Shut off computer, disconnect power.
3. Install new card and plug monitor into new card's output jack
4. Boot up into BIOS
5. Look for your video initial boot up settings (they're in there somewhere), and set it to PCI
6. Restart computer and install drivers when hardware is auto detected.

Hope this helps!
