Video Card Problems

Okay here's my problem.

I started my computer one day and my desktop came up all scrambled and frozen. So I assumed my video card had died. Well I put in an older card to take its place until I could buy another one but a few days later when I started my computer the screen just came up black.

So is this a problem with just the video cards or is it a bigger problem I might be overlooking? I really appreciate any help.

Their could be a problem with your power supply. Try another power supply if you have one. If you still experience problems then there may be a problem with your motherboard or AGP slot. Also, try starting the computer in safe mode. if the system starts in safe mode then there may be an issue with your drivers.

Also, it is possible that because the older video card worked for a while then stopped that it may have also failed. After all, it is older.
