i using mcafee virus scan, i know that there are 100s of virus on my old pc so im trying to run a virus scan of all hard drives, it scans my first hard drive sucessfully but when it starts scaning my 2nd hard drive it fails everytime and then stops responding. i have also tryed a different virus scanner but had the same problem so i think the fault is with the hard drive, but i dont know what it is can anyone help me.

Have a look in the Misc Software forum at the top there should be a Drive Diagnostics Utility "Sticky" thread. Run your manufacturer's diagnostic utility and see if it is really bad.
