Tried to fix a harddrive on my system which is running WinXP service pack 2. When it was about to install the OS the cdrom drive opened. Now when i reboot i have a choice of OS to boot. One is Win XP and the other is Win XP setup. How can i get rid of the 2nd choice? It also only give me 3 secs to decide. I get an error when i do let it go through the setup. It will not let me cancel the setup and has me reboot. I need help!

If the original boot path is now invalid, here is another way to eliminate the OS option screen: Start/Run/type "msconfig" in the dialog box, without the quotations. Select the boot.ini tab in the System Configuration Utility and click the "Check All Boot Paths" button. If the original path comes up as invalid, choose the delete option. Click Apply and OK and reboot your computer. The OS option screen will no longer appear.
