Windows activation key? Dead hard drive

Just a quick question, just recently my hdd died, so i have got a new one. I am going to be putting vista back on.

My question is do i have to ring microsoft for another activation key or can i use the same one?? will that work??

You can enter the old one, but it probably won't accept it, giving you instructions on how to get a new key. Usually it's just a phonecall away.
