Windows Media Player, no sound

I am not getting any sound when I try to play my cd

Could you give everyone some more info please?
- When did this start(and did anything change to create this problem)
- What disc are you trying to play (have you used it on another PC to see if that works?)
- What specs does the computer have, if it is a computer you are referring to?
- Have you tried a separate pair of headphones/speakers?

This cd has always played before. I shall take it (my computer) to a technician as I guess this is what must be done. Many thanks.

Why take it to a technician & pay for the so-called help when the fine people here can help you @ no cost? You should try using https://www.techspot.com/downloads/1888-vlc-media-player-for-windows.html

Put another CD in there and see if that plays? Connect some headphone too it or the system. See if that works. Does the PC play sound. Is anything disabled on the system for Sound. CD players don't last forever. (You could trying cleaning the laser lens) Get a CD cleaner for your CD player. If that doesn't work replace the CD Player. Tech not going to fix it going to take too much time. Cheaper to replace the duff part (bad player).
