Won't see SATA 2 drive

Im installing a 120Gb Sata 2 harddrive in my girlfriends rig and for some reason i cant seem to get the system to see it. I have it set to slave since the other harddrive is set to master, i have the Sata power and data cables connected but still Windows 7 64bit ultimate and even the Bios refuses to see it. Know its not the drive as it works fine in my own rig i have checked. It shows up fine in my bios. Can anyone help please?

Well Andy, you can't set a ... SATA... drive to master or slave, so you might want to rethink this post.

Only PATA or IDE drives have the jumper to move. They connect with the 80 pin ribbon cable.
