XP fatal error message, please help

hello there.

for the past week or 2 my computer keeps experiencing frequent crashes and the occasional freeze...sometimes as frequent as a crash every hour. i don't know alot about computers, but what i was able to get were these messages when my computer restarted itself

i don't know if this would help but there was a separate box titled error report contents and it contained these 2 files


C:\DOCUME~1\uf\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERa09b.dir00\Mini022807-04.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\uf\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERa09b.dir00\sysdata.xml


my computer is running windows xp professional. any help would be greatly appreciated.
