Features

Multi-Platform Support

Whether you are gaming or working, access your remote sessions on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, any device you prefer.

Defense in Depth, Built for Trust

StarDesk employs a multi-layered security model designed to protect your data, your connection, and your privacy at every step.

End-to-End Encryption

StarDesk provides true E2EE for session content. SRTP protects video, audio, and input streams, while DTLS secures clipboard and file transfers. Signaling runs over WSS. Encryption keys stay exclusively on your devices, so neither StarDesk nor relay servers can view your session content at any point.

StarDesk Privacy Mode

Smart Privacy Guard hides sensitive content during remote access, so you can enjoy secure access privately. Turn on the privacy screen to black out the local display and mute the host device, ensuring no one nearby can see or hear your session.

Connection Policy

StarDesk prefers direct P2P connections to keep data between your devices. If P2P fails, our relay service securely forwards encrypted traffic. All content remains fully encrypted. IPv6 is supported with no special firewall ports required.

Financial-Grade Security

StarDesk uses secure ECDHE key exchange for every session, with ephemeral keys that are destroyed as soon as the session ends to provide Perfect Forward Secrecy. For long-duration connections, keys are periodically changed and never persistently stored on StarDesk servers.

Industry Certified

StarDesk secures all traffic with modern encryption. Signaling uses TLS 1.2/1.3; media and data channels use DTLS 1.2/1.3. We employ AES-128 plus replay protection, certificate pinning, and mutual authentication for verified secure access.

User Consent

Access to sensitive features follows least-privilege rules. Clipboard sync, file transfer, and remote audio all start disabled and only activate after explicit approval from the device owner or admin.

Minimal Data Exposure

StarDesk uses end-to-end encrypted channels (DTLS/SRTP) so only your devices can read session data. Our zero-knowledge design keeps activity private, while metadata is kept minimal and pseudonymized. We cannot view your session content.

Full-Path Encryption

StarDesk encrypts every connection by default, whether over LAN or the public internet. Screen content, input, and file transfers are all protected with strong TLS-based encryption, so intercepted data stays unreadable.
