Benchmarks: File Copy Test
Prior to the NVMe driver being installed we see that the Intel SSD 750 Series 1.2TB drive only managed a throughput of 365MB/s in our single large file test, matching the Samsung SSD 850 Pro 512GB.
However, once the NVMe driver is installed the SSD 750's performance is transformed and the drive how hits 706MB/s or 93% faster than the SSD 850 Pro.
The program copy test is comprised of many small non-compressed files ranging from just 1K up to 5000K in size (6104 files totaling 2.75GB). Here the SSD 750 Series 1.2TB drops down to 434MB/s, 67% faster than the 850 Pro 512GB and 76% faster than without the NVMe drivers installed.
Our last file copy test uses game data in a mixture of small and large, compressed and non-compressed files. The Intel SSD 750 Series 1.2TB drive raced back up to 725MB/s, 107% faster than the SSD 850 Pro.
