If I had a 595b generator I'd post it (as stated by me before)
But I've got all this stuff on Dell and sometimes some of the stuff works, I'm yet to hear back from carlosadrian (probably with a no it didn't work!, who knows)
I say the paperclip guide is number1 around here

Thanks for your response kimsland, and the info about the asset.com/svctag.exe solution. If I could get my laptop to boot to CD, I'd give it a try. In fact, I might try using the "building a bootable hard drive" from the DST site in order to try it. My guess is that it won't help me though since the machine itself is locked, so it won't even try to boot off the HD. Any idea about this?
Anyhow, I actually have something to contribute. Do you happen to know if the service tags of an Inspiron 700m can be changed with the asset/svctag utility? If so, couldn't a user change their service tag to that of a service tag with a known master password... and reset their passwords that way?
There's a Russian blog I came across that had some listed service tag/master password pairs. If anybody out there's willing to give this a try, I'd be curious to know whether or not it worked. Change your service tag to one of those below, then use the corresponding master password to unlock your machine. Afterwards, you could revert your service tag back to its original value. Anyhow, these are from the blog:
service tag: 1234567—595B password: 46rg65ky
service tag: 1111111-A95B password: 2qhuvn1b
service tag: 1234567-D35B password: 5tc8q9re
Inspiron 700m: [1234567] password: 37897101

Yes that will work
But most of these password "locked" computers, do not have floppy or CD access either. But if they did, and you had a Service Tag and password combination (ie above) and the Service Tag also matched your system (ie a 595b Service Tag should have a 595b Service Tag !) Then it should work

im new to all this. but i have tried the floppy and cd boot disks. i can't get into setup to change
the boot order.and the dell guys are no help.i also tried the battery removal deal.took the hdd
out but it still won't boot from cd or floppy? what should i try next? my service tag is #JG74FC1-595B EXPRESS SERVICE CODE 42338287009

Paperclip procedure works fine on your Inspiron.
The chip (24u04) is located on top of the motherboard under the hard-drive caddy approx 50mm in

Need Help for Dell D610 Notebook Bios Reset
I got a Dell Latitude D610 at the Salvation Army outlet.
I can't access any HD Or CD nor can I access CMOS-Setup. I receive a Message:
" This computer system, #23YMHB1-595B is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password. Please type in the primary or administrator password and press <Enter> "
I've tried using Latitude.exe & Latitude_MasterPW.exe Dated in 2003 to generate a Master Password but did not work short of using Dell which I've tried they refuse to help since I am not the original owner is there another master Password generator that will work on this notebook computerAny help would be greatly appreciated nisabelle at charter.net

use paperclip procedure of Fastback68. It works fine on Latitude D610.
