Just stick to the memory on your mobos QVL and you wont have any problems, and i'd suggest getting sli ready RAM with EPP for you board as well.

I'm running Windows XP 64 bit with 4 GB of RAM, and I really don't need all of it. I have to have a hundred things happening at once to even tap into all of it.

lol, I'm surprised that "quote" from Bill Gates about never needing more than 640K of memory still hasn't come up....

That quote was actually taken out of context.

Also when upgrading to Vista 64bit you have to install it with 2GB and then after installation put the other 2GB in.

I've installed Vista 32 and 64 bit versions with 4 GB of RAM installed just fine.

Yeah. Now I'm totally at a loss. My motherboard only sees the first memory module. No matter what brand, even the old duo-memory which worked fine till last week do not work as a duo anymore. No dual channel possible. It only sees the first 1gb. Or the first 512mb if I put in the old one. I think something might be broken when I was taking out and putting in the memory modules for the 100th time.
