I'll go out on a limb here and guess that the "He" you're referring to is Bill Gates. Elon Musk made a point about the case fatality rate. I think it's also called the mortality rate. But it's only fake news if it's a lie. If we have millions of cases of COVID-19 and small amounts of death then there is no real pandemic. It was all a well orchestrated planned move to scare the world into begging for a vaccine. With a CFR that is ridiculous low I have complete respect, but at the same time, zero fear of corona virus. So, I think you can guess my viewpoint on what Bill Gates can do with his vaccines.

Dunno why everybody's trusting Bill Gates more, he will be the reason why COVI-PASS will become mandatory. The new vaccines, not only may still contain dangerous ingredients that increase dementia and cancer risk (Not many know that people started hating vaccines because of toxic ingredient that caused too many children being born with autism one year. Ask the victims. And not because they are just dumb as 99.98% LOVE to believe.), the new DNA-altering technology, mRNA vaccination, turns people into genetically modified property, that can be patented by corporations. And to improve mass control, they will do it.

Sweden is one of the few European nations still considered “dangerous” by surrounding government, BECAUSE of their actions.
Sweden total infections/millions of population is way higher than France or Italy , while tot tests/millions of population is way lower than in Italy or France.
So Sweden is a good example as NOT TO face a pandemic.

If u have zero fear of Corona virus you should read the reports on those who thought the same just before they died of it. I agree it's thankfully a very small CFR but for a small portion of those who contract it, it's vicious. The vaccines are being developed to allow humanity to deal with the disease without around 0.5 to 1% of those who contract it dying from it before herd immunity is reached, and many more enduring hospitalisation and severe illness. As I have had multiple vaccines over my lifetime to protect me from other serious viruses and diseases, many of which I had only a tiny chance of contracting (Japanese encephalitis for example), I'm very much looking forward to when a safe vaccine is made available to allow the world to return to normal. I do accept btw the argument that just letting everyone get infected while protecting the vulnerable might actually be a reasonable path to take, but I don't accept the conspiracy theory nonsense that Bill Gates philanthropy on disease is actually just a megalomaniac play for world domination.

If the vulnerable can be protected, care homes etc, and everyone can be educated to build up their immune systems with vitamin D supplements etc, and if therapeutics can continue to be discovered, then herd immunity could be the most efficient way to return to normal given that this disease has a fatality rate of under 1%. This isn't ebola but the economic and social consequences of 1 to 2 years of lockdown until a vaccine can be delivered en masse are also huge. I definitely don't think Sweden's approach of let's try herd immunity first was wise, but with what we know now a more educated herd immunity system MIGHT be viable. But I'm just a couch expert

You are right, I’m not asking for extensive lockdown. That was initially necessary in some areas due to overwhelmed hospitals, but it’s not sustainable in the long time.
But basic measures like social distancing and improved hygiene are a little bit expensive than nothing, but still effective in keeping the virus under control.

I really hope you don’t need surgery or cancer treatments while hospitals were overwhelmed with coronavirus cases, every department were converted to COVID and many many patients were refused any treatment.
In Europe number of hospitalization were up 5X the usual number.

People like him are one of the reasons why the virus spread so easily. Not-me people who thinks they are untouchable, who thinks they have rights but not duties.
You wrote about Ebola above. Well Ebola is not easily spreadable as COVID mostly because when you get it, you feel sick almost immediately. So sick you can’t really go anywhere to spread the virus. Covid-19 is much more subtle and a lot of people are infecting others without even knowing. Not to speak about irresponsible ones like the genius above (or even worse the ones ignoring mild symptoms and keep having social contacts).

He is just a human. It is without a doubt that he has propelled us to a brighter future but certainly shouldn't be given any free pass for all the controversial things he has said off and on the Internet.

However we need more billionaires thinking like Elon in terms of the future and moving forward. It's the principal of the way he thinks about technology and business which is important here, not his stance on various unrelated topics.

He is a businessman who has a good understanding of tech & science, something majority of business owners simply do not have. This is a key, you do not have to be the smartest guy in the room, you just need to know how to propel those smart ideas so they see light of day and improve humanity. People forget that, a lot.

A new Tesla? Certainly not, never was. A new Edison? Yep.

If you are Elon you are entitled to an opinion, but you must keep in mind that your opinion could have influence on many people because you are Elon musk, a supposedly clever man.
So you should think twice before downplaying a virus.
