Blank screen

Hi

I was wandering if anyone could help me. I've been using my home pc for several years now and for some reason the monitor has stopped working when I boot up the computer.

However the monitor works perfectly after a few seconds from boot up. Why is this though? It is definitely not in hibernation mode. The computer also makes a weird noise when I press both power button for the monitor and computer. The screen also says "no signal". Does anyone no what is wrong? Please reply

the thing with crt is that they have a age limit(in hours) after it they start just losing it it seems that ur moniter is almost done for also just to be on the safe side check the signal cord to see if any of the pins are bent and such, if u have AGP card/Pci card check if it is seated properly.

Have you checked that the monitor cable is secure?
