Dell BIOS Password Removal

Figured this was worth a try...I have a Dell Inspiron 7500 I'm working on for a friend (I'm getting another laptop out of the deal, among other things, so its worth the trouble) that is having a password issue similar to what others have posted about, with one minor difference. After the bios boots (or when you go into the bios from the Dell boot screen) it asks for a password, but gives none of the info like service tag or etc. The tag on the dell sticker is YB5F8 and the express service code is 576-271-88. I've tried the boot disk that is supposed to change the service tag and wipe the pass, but it will not boot to the disk before the password comes up...any ideas?

Older Inspirons 3500, 7000, and 7500.

The password system on these older Inspirons is not Service Tag oriented and the DST software will not work on those to reset the Service Tag; however, the Service Tag seems to be only a paper issue anyways on those. You can still find the EEProm Chip and short it to remove the Passwords however.

Well I found this site through extensive searching to find how to make a Dell Latitude CPI useful again. My son took it in trade and now we find he got the worse end of the deal with his so called friend. Anyway, you guessed it, Admin password locked. I found the program Latitude.exe and Latitude Master PW but all the passwords they give do not work. I do not know if I did it right or used the correct numbers or letters. Its service tag has five letters in one place (WPRNW) and sets of numbers in another (549-499-64). I also read that the tag no is on the door of the docking station port so I tried that too (53938) but to no avail.
It is a nice condition laptop and I would like my son to be able to use it for college but If no one can help I guess it will make a nice paper weigh for his exam papers.
I heard about shortning out some chip but you have to tear down the laptop and that is way to technical for me.
I hope their is a way, but from what I read lately, it is a useless cause.
Thanks all and Mr. Rustam for your ear.

WPRNW is the Service Tag. On the Grey/white screen, does it show as WPRNW**-D35B or WPRNW**-595B? If it is the first, then Latitude Master_PW v.2.20 should work to give you a master password. If it is the latter, then you need rustam's help.

Grey white screen

Well, it really does not show anything but the following:
#*******-D35B

So I guess I am still stuck?
Apprecitate your help

Mr. Rustam,

You appear to be the most popular man on this board. I spoke to dell on several occasions and cannot seem to get past this grey screen. Any help would be beneficial.

Dell Inspiron 600m

Thanks in advance!

Dell Latitude D800 BIOS password

Hi I hope someone can help me! I am working as a computer network technician for the military in Izmir, Turkey and I am trying to rebuild this DELL laptop. I am unable to change the boot order to boot from CD ROM because there is an admin password set. It must have been the previous airman who worked here last who set it and no one knows what it is. The service tag is
F1GT11J and the Express Service Code is 327-404-294-47.
I would really appreciate any help! I don't want to take the computer apart and DELL tech support won't help (I'm not sure who originally purchased the machine!) Thank you!

Surfer dude, read the site in my tag, the password to stop the boot order being changed is so easy to defeat with the DST software,

Regards

Hello Everyone. I am currently in Iraq, working for the DOD repairing computers. I have run across of few of these Dell systems with the Bios and hdd passwords. Wouldnt it be easier for all involved if Rustem shared the program he is using to break these damn passwords?

Yeah, probably would. But he may have his reasons and it may not be as simple as a program.

I'm sure he has very good reasons that have very little to do with just a program. Just a little wishful thinking on my part. I have never had a problem getting help from Dell, just feel bad for the folks that are.....

The chip is under the PCMCIA Hardware. Remove it and then lift the black insulation sheet. It is under that and will be a 24 series chip.

So i have connect one pin with an other. But my laptop shut of when I do this. Which pin´s must I connect or what I have to do else??

Inspiron 9200

inspiron 8600

hi i have an inspiron 8600 and am getting the grey screen of death from dell. i need the administrator password.

SERVICE TAG - 904BS51
EXPRESS SERVICE CODE - 19598309173

it says when it boots up the following string...

#904BS51-595B

i'd also like to take this time to express my disgust with dell. i call support to try and get this password. i have no idea if there are other issues with this laptop as it was a gift from the previous owner. all i want is to get this password so i can boot the machine and self-diagnose any other hardware issues. when i called support, they told me A) they couldn't help me on sundays because that dept is closed, B) that it would cost $39.99 to retreive said password, because they would also help troubleshooting (of which i need no help, if there is an issue, i'm not going to keep this thing!). so basically they're mroe or less extorting customers $39.99 to see if there's any issue with their laptop that they have already previously paid for.
