Does Malware effect keyboards ?

Can anyone help with trouble shooting a keyboard? I have changed the keyboard, uninstalled the software and reinstalled it . I am running win. 7 Pro 64 bit. and is a Lenovo desktop. I have had a virus for about a month and a half . I have a MS intellitype and intellipoint.

First things first.. "I have had a virus for about a month and a half "

Alternatives:
- if you have all data properly backed up, consider just doing a clean install from your original disks. It may take several days to get all the updates from Microsoft (you can force this by searching for updates, but it still takes a day).
- you might consider upgrade to Win10
- you could submit to Broni's regimen over on the https://www.techspot.com/community/forums/virus-and-malware-removal.28/ forum

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Sometimes powering everything off, unplugging, holding power on button down for 30 seconds, then reconnecting power and trying again works.

If you are concerned about malware, do early scan in safe mode - I like Malwarebytes which is free. Also, BitDefender on a Rescue Disk can be useful as it boots from its own OS.

Probably give better answers if you tell us OS and system model.

If you know what kind of virus you have you may be able to deal with it with your antivirus software if you have one. Otherwise, you need to submit to the aforementioned Broni's regimen. Also, will it work with an external keyboard?
